Hit me with your vegan travel tips

So Mr T and I will have a smallish holiday in Nov-Dec in Hong Kong, London, ATP (Minehead), Brighton (for only a day or two) and Berlin.

We still haven't decided if we will go to Manchester.

If you have any must eats or other tips like cool second hand shops/markets/handmade stuff please share.

Hong Kong is the only place that we are actually familar with.

Also, if you know of any bloggers based in those areas please send me links, I haven't actually come across many London food blogs but I'm sure they exist. I'm hoping to meet up with a couple of veg*n bloggers from those areas too.

So hit me with you tips..............

  1. This post has just reminded me that I'm meant to be e-mailing you about Brighton! I suck, I'm sorry it's taken so long. I'll e-mail you right now!

  2. I don't know if you can use the word 'smallish' to describe a holiday involving at least three countries other than the one you are currently in!

The only blogger I know in those places is vegan.in.brighton and you're obviously already in touch, but good luck getting ready. It sounds like a great trip and I can't wait to hear about it.

My only advice, if you do go to Manchester, is don't get your hopes up. I think it's better to be pleasantly surprised than let down, so keep the bar low...

  3. I'm sure vegan.in.brighton will fill you in, but Terre a Terre is amazing! Go there and take photos for me. I also enjoyed The George pub.

In London, I became quite addicted to Red Veg, which is vegan fast food - burgers, hotdogs, wedges, chips.... mmmmmmm!

  5. For London,

I second the Red Veg comment (I reviewed it on my blog btw) I got a bit addicted to it and craved it, and I was only there a week. =D

Eat and Two Veg as well, but it can be a bit expensive.

Whole Food Markets has a buffet and you can just take as much or little as you want. Loads of vegan options.

  7. Cupcake in Berlin (but you already know about that place).

    Here's a blog post on Berlin http://wherestherevolution.blogspot.com/2009/04/berlin.html

    Another blog http://no-fairytales.blogspot.com/2009/06/its-my-new-life-in-berlin.html

And a forum page on Berlin http://www.veganforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17884

  8. I travel vegan (I'm an international flight attendant) and I would recommending stopping by my blog for what I do on a daily basis, but as for London you have to check out Vitaorganic in Wardour street, really delicious vegan buffet and juices and Saf (kinda pricey) but it is a RAW food restaurant (that I still haven't had the chance to get to. If you can find Neale's Yard in Convent Garden as well there are two Vegetarian restaurants that I know of in there and apparently lots more around Convent Garden. I hear Camden is a great place to check out vegan restaurants as well!
