Lentil Tacos

One of my favourite things about reading other food blogs is the great ideas for meals that I get. The other day I was thinking about what to make and was really stuck for ideas when I read about lentil tacos on Yeah, that "vegan "shit . I've had bean, tofu, mock meat, and even potato gem tacos but have never thought about lentils in tacos.

I had canned lentils which made it a pretty quick meal. I can't justify buying taco seasoning so I made up some of my own:

1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp cumin

I drained the canned lentils and added them to a pot with a tiny bit of water and some of taco seasoning and then adjusted the amount of taco seasoning to it seemed right. Then added some taco sauce, cheezly, lettuce and tomato. It was such a quick meal and was so yummy. Lentil tacos might not be authentic but I think I might even prefer them to my normal bean tacos that I make.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know how to successfully copy and paste something into blogger and then change the font. I have tried changing the font with my previous posts and even copying and pasting it into word changing the font and then copying into blogger but nothing seems to work. I want to make the earlier posts not so ugly.

  1. i'd suggest copy+pasting into notepad, which is font nuetral, and then into blogger.

  2. I spotted those tacos this week and bookmarked them - glad they worked out so well! I might try your spice mix when I eventually make them.

Are you having to switch your font to something you like for your new posts, or do they automatically appear as you want?

I'm guessing that you might be able to make some minor edits to the html of your earlier posts.

Drop me an email, if you like. :-)

  3. I saw the lentil tacos too, and gave them a go last night! It was an interesting idea and I'm definitely going to try them again.

  4. Your lentil tacos look good!

And I find w/ blogspot that it wants to use Times New Roman, which I dislike and I have to highlight my font and change it to Arial. Sometimes it reverts back to TNR and I have to highlight my text and choose "Font" from the dropdown menu and then highlight the text again and choose "Arial" before it actually changes it to Arial. So if you're finding it's not changing your font, highlight it and choose Font before highlighting it again and choosing your fave font :)

  5. Mandee, there may be a better long-term solution! When you sign in, go to the Layout tab and look at Fonts and Colors. If you scroll down the list you should be able to select your preferred Text Font, Blog Title Font, etc. (Then click Save Changes, of course!) I'm not sure if it re-formats old posts but it should get things right for future posts. :-)
