Blue Cheezly

I've never had blue cheese and so was curious when Blue Cheezly arrived at radical grocery a few weeks ago. I tried some on a corn cruskit biscuit and discovered I hated it. It had a slightly sweet pungent flavour which just seems wrong. However, Toby  enjoyed it.  He's never had the real thing either, so he can't comment on how much it resembles actual blue cheese. I will stick to cheddar cheezly which is my favourite vegan cheese.

  1. I haven't tried Blue Cheezly, but if you can get your hands on Sheese, they make a great blue! Though I suspect the blue just never will work for some people. ;)

  2. Hrmmm I dont think I will be trying the blue cheezly. My favourte is the edem cheezly or the mozzarella for the way it melts.

  3. Blue is not for everyone - it is just mouldy cheese after all - I only like some of them and if they have the right balance of flavours in a dish - a bit of quince paste is good with blue cheese because the sharp flavours work well with the sweet

  5. I really, really miss Sunergia's tofu-based blue cheeses and feta cheeses that I bought in America! I remember I would eat the 170g blocks in one sitting... I doubt I could do that with cheezly!

  6. I just tried (and blogged about) it this week too! Also wasn't a fan. I used to love blue cheese, but this isn't even close to it. I definitely agree about the sweetness... not pleasant. Everyone's told me to try the blue Sheese, I'm going to have to do it one of these days.
